Currently a student at Butte College in the MultiMedia Studies Program, I enjoy creating all types of computer artwork. I was fortunate enough to have been one of fifteen selected from Chico High School to be accepted into Butte College Connection. This is a program where you spend your senior year of high school at the college and it is not easy to get into. The program was a life saver for me; sick of high school I was opened up to college and exposed to the MultiMedia Studies Program. Since fall 2003, I have been taking classes and it has only been until recently that I have really discovered my true passions.
I enjoy every aspect and type of multimedia artwork but my favorite areas are web design and video editing. During my second semester of video editing, I realized it was my favorite form of creating artwork and easiest way to express myself. My goal right now is to earn a Digital Video degree from Butte College in the MultiMedia Studies Program and my dream is to move to Los Angeles to pursue a video editing career. Right now I am following my other strong passion; web design. I am learning so much about all aspects of the area and am earning money at the same time. Working in web design has made me realized that it is another one of my strong passions.
Born in Chico, I have strong ties to Los Angeles because that is where most of my extended family lives and where my parents where born and raised. Someday I think I would like to live there to be close to them and to have my career options more open. I am in a good spot right now because I feel this is a good transition into what I will be doing next. I am working for a local web design company and soaking up so much information. I still haven’t figured out exactly what I want to do but I have lots of options. Getting into web design was definitely perfect timing for me especially since there is always work out there. My dream career is video editing and my practical goal is web design. But besides those, I would follow my interests in Flash production, photo editing and manipulation, and graphic design, layout and print. |
